Another year is in the books and on to the next one. Don’t have a bunch of great things to say about 2017 but all in all it wasn’t a bad year. Was able to visit some family and do a couple things, and get some things sorted out. Looking back though I see some places I could have done better. On the plus side of things, I was able to finally wrap up the bathroom remodel and it sparked a bunch of energy in me to get more work done. Few things make you want to create like not being to create in the first place. Also getting back in the classroom was super nice. Who knows how long that will last but even getting back in for a semester was super rad.
On on the other side of the coin, I lost some family members in the second half of the year that put a damper on the year. RIP grandma Nystrom and grandpa Still. I also picked up some old bad habits again this year, that I wish I could have dodged. I’ll save you from the details so you can save me from your speeches. All in all this was a year of high expectations and low results all around and honestly I had some bad luck but mostly I let myself down.
Looking in 2018 though things look bright. It’s Jan 2 and I already have 3 trips planned for the year including one long overdue to see my buddy John down in Texas. I miss this dude more than anyone and can’t wait to see him. I’m gonna pass on the “resolutions” this year. I think things are turning around even if I’m broke and tired. Here’s to a year of just being a dude in the world and letting go of as much as I can that weighs me down. Cheers friends and hope you all have a happy and healthy new year!
